I just returned tonight from the
Orlando winter IWJG watch show and it was a very good showing
in pateks especially.The market for discontinued and newer complicated
models such as the 5960,5712,5980,5970,5070's are red hot in price.....everything
has moved up almost 5-10% in last 2-3 months.The trend will most likely
continue...The 5102G Celestial continues to be a real sleeper and
looks to be solid at the 200k level and appears to be headed to 250k.
There is a real shortage of quality vintage
complicated pateks at this time and prices are soaring for great pieces.
The 2499's are very much in demand and solid in
the 400k range.Minute repeaters and tourbillons are bringing higher prices
with each new sale.The demand far exceeds the supply in this price range
for the eliteist collector.
By all indications the Patek market will
continue to set new records in 2007 as world markets emerge and make a
heavy impact on the collectible timepiece market.Patek seems to be the
international currency of choice for all countries.
