The auction market took another leap forward today with record high results across the board in Patek Philippe especially.....The results in the link below are from the Christies auction held at the Four Seasons in Geneva today....to say the results were excellent is actually an understatement.....today the collectible watch market asserted it's strength and validated it's coming of age.The Patek Philippe Ref 1526 in steel highlighted the auction selling at almost 4M US with the Ref 2497 platinum model achieving a record of 3M US.

As I have been saying for the last 7-8 years this market is proving to everyone willing to participate that it's well worth the ride whether you are investing in modern or vintage models...... we have sold quite a few several important vintage and modern Pateks exceeding 500k this year to several of our collectors and to those who made the leap I can assure you that your decision was the right choice.....no doubt this market has "legs" and is no longer crawling.

My 28 years of experience in this market tells me that we have only just begun to experience sales exceeding the 1-2M mark....todays auction proved the watch market is finding new sources of inspiration and funding and I believe with unstable economic conditions both here and abroad that more "investment funds" will find their way to this marketplace only driving prices higher for the great pieces.
